  • AVSF- Agronomes et vétérinaires sans frontières

AVSF is an NGO working in rural development and international cooperation. It is the result of the merger in 2004 of Veterinarians without Borders and the International Centre of Cooperation for Agricultural Development. Its mission is on the one hand to contribute to rural development by supporting family farming in underprivileged areas. Moreover, the association advocates this type of agriculture, via raising awareness among the public opinion in the developed countries.

AVSF is active in 20 countries on 4 continents (Africa, Asia, South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe). Its programmes of development have four areas of focus : 1) agricultural production and sustainable management of natural resources 2) reinforcement of the producers’ organisations and their role in the commodity chains of agricultural products and livestock 3) helping to structure agricultural and farmers’ services 4) diversification of income sources in rural contexts.
