  • GRET- Groupe de recherche et d’échanges technologiques

Created in 1976, Gret is an international solidarity association providing the interface between research and development in dialogue with the government authorities. Through its activities, the NGO seeks to eradicate poverty and structural disparities in urban and rural development.

Gret is active in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Projects are systematically undertaken in partnership with local organisations. Through network moderation and support for development and cooperation authorities, the association contributes to elaborating public policies in developed and developing countries.

Gret places considerable emphasis on the analyses of practices and communication, in order to ensure development, in particular through its publications.

Thus, Gret is a professional NGO, an associative consultancy firm, a delegate for public services missions, a place where knowledge and methods are produced and disseminated and an interface between development stakeholders and cooperation stakeholders all at once. This hybrid identity is, for the association, a strength in the face of the current reconstruction of the very notion of development.
