In Kayes region in Malia, local associations of migrants have long since been the main stakeholders of the development. With the emergence of "inter-village" associations and decentralisation, the initiative is now in place on a local level. Development activities are directly determined in conjunction with local representatives. What role do migrants associations play now in local development ? How may the other stakeholders contribute to support new relationships between local organisations and migrants ? Based on the experience of GRDR, this text attempts to partly respond to these issues.
