| AVSF -
Agronomes et vétérinaires sans frontières |
|
VSF – CICDA is an NGO working in rural development and international
cooperation. It is the result of the merger in 2004 of Veterinarians
without Borders and the International Centre of Cooperation for
Agricultural Development.
Its mission is on the one hand to contribute to rural development
by supporting family farming in underprivileged areas. Moreover,
the association advocates this type of agriculture, via raising
awareness among the public opinion in the developed countries.
VSF – CICDA is active in 20 countries on 4 continents (Africa,
Asia, South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe). Its programmes
of development have four areas of focus: 1) agricultural production
and sustainable management of natural resources 2) reinforcement
of the producers' organisations and their role in the commodity
chains of agricultural products and livestock 3) helping to structure
agricultural and farmers' services 4) diversification of income
sources in rural contexts.

| GRDR -
Groupe de recherches et de réalisations pour
le développement rural |
|
Since 1969, GRDR has supported the dynamics of development resulting
from migration. Its approach is to consider global stakes of
migration within two zones: Africa and France. GRDR works,
by giving value to France and Africa and their migratory evolutions,
to ensure a coherent development of citizenship within these
two zones.
In their countries of origin (Malia, Mauritania and Senegal), GRDR
works with local government authorities, technical departments
of the public authorities, municipalities and the stakeholders
of civil society. The aim is to promote self management of decision-making
and local
actions. On this basis, GRDR also implements economic sector support
programs.
In France, GRDR closely follows individual and collective dynamics
of migrants, in particular their social and economical integration
in their new municipalities. It improves the migrants' issues of
citizenship involvement in France and in their country of origin
by promoting decentralised cooperation.

| GRET -
Groupe de recherche et d’échanges technologiques |
|
Created in 1976, Gret is an international solidarity association
providing the interface between research and development in
dialogue with the government authorities. Through its activities,
the NGO seeks to eradicate poverty and structural disparities
in urban and rural development.
Gret is active in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Projects
are systematically undertaken in partnership with local organisations.
Through network moderation and support for development and cooperation
authorities, the association contributes to elaborating public
policies in developed and developing countries.
Gret places considerable emphasis on the analyses of practices
and communication, in order to ensure development, in particular
through its publications.
Thus, Gret is a professional NGO, an associative consultancy firm,
a delegate for public services missions, a place where knowledge
and methods are produced and disseminated and an interface between
development stakeholders and cooperation stakeholders all at once.
This hybrid identity is, for the association, a strength in the
face of the current reconstruction of the very notion of development.

Institut de recherches et d’applications des
méthodes de développement |
|
Iram was created 45 years ago. Its experience in
Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and more
recently in South Asia and Europe allows it
to develop skills in four complementary fields:
- Agricultural
policies and food security, for which the main
areas of focus are: setting up regional
economic blocks, connection between agricultural,
macroeconomic and sector-wide policies, analysis
and organisation of food chains, land tenure
policies and food security.
- Rural
organisations and small enterprises through:
supporting services for rural producers, supporting
for farmer organisations working within the food
chains, supporting the stakeholders and small enterprise
training.
- Local
financing and microfinancing by: implementing micro-finance
programs, long-term support of micro-finance
institutions and studies (impact analyses, projects
and programs assessments, recommendations concerning
the micro-finance sector,…)
- Local
development and management of natural resources,
whose areas of focus are: local administration
and governance, natural resources management
and agrarian
systems, social management of rural hydraulic
systems, decentralisation and local planning.
Iram
aims to combine skills, ethics and professional
excellence. Its research activities concern
every stage in the project cycle. Iram is also
involved
in support and consultancy activities. Diverse
development programs are carried out at local
level, in collaboration
with national partners. The whole of these
interventions form the basis for the carrying
out of research projects
focusing on methodology.
